The AOTA Approved Provider Program (APP) was established to ensure that continuing education providers meet specific criteria and guidelines set forth by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Each criterion is developed to assess the organization’s ability to develop and implement continuing education courses that offer both quality and relevance for occupational therapy practitioners.
A primary objective of the AOTA is to promote high professional standards and the continuing competence of occupational therapy practitioners throughout their careers. The Approved Provider Program (APP) is a product of these efforts. Setting forth guidelines that reinforce the quality, relevance, and consistency of continuing education activities offered to occupational therapist and occupational therapist assistants. The American Occupational Therapy Association only recognizing those CE providers who have demonstrated the professional ability to meet these standards as a quality continuing education provider.
